Honister is the last working slate mine in England and situated just outside Keswick. There are loads of activities included fully guided mine tours and an outdoor Via Ferrata. There is also an indoor Via Ferrata where you can get to climb up the inside of the mine. A truly exhilarating experience whatever the weather.

This National Trust owned property was the birthplace and childhood home of William Wordsworth. It is presented as it would have been when he lived there in the 1770’s and is staffed by costumed guides. There are lovely gardens to explore as well as a great National Trust tearoom and shop.

Muncaster Castle is an historic haunted Castle home to the Pennington family for 800 years. It has a stunning 70- acre garden famous for its collection of rhododendrons and azaleas. Throughout the year there are lots of events and activities including the festival of fools, outdoor concerts and a food festival.
