What are the check in and check out times?
Check in is from 2.00pm.
Check out is 11.00am.
Late Checkout is available until 12 Noon at £20.00 per room

Is WiFi internet available?
Yes there is free Wi-Fi available throughout the hotel
What time is your restaurant open?
Breakfast is served 7am – 10am weekdays and 8am -10am weekends and bank holidays.
Lunch is served 12-2pm Monday – Saturday.
Sunday Lunch is served 12-1.30 pm and Sunday Dinner from 6pm-8pm.
Dinner is served 6pm – 9pm Monday – Saturday.
Afternoon tea is available from 3-5pm 7 days per week, advance reservations only.
You may cancel your room reservation without charge up to 12pm 48 hours prior to the date of your stay. If a room is cancelled outside of the cancellation period, the full balance will be payable.
If you have a pre-paid for your stay or have a pre-paid accommodation voucher the booking is non-refundable if you cancel. However, dates may be transferred subject to availability and an admin charge.
For those booking on the discounted wedding rate, a 50% non-refundable deposit will be required at the time of booking. The remaining balance will then be payable 2 weeks prior to the date of arrival and is non-refundable.
Can we bring children?
Unfortunately we do not have any family rooms. Children are welcome to dine in our restaurant and although we do not have a children’s menu we are happy to offer smaller portions from the main menu.
Do we need to make reservations for the restaurant?
It is a good idea to make a dinner reservation in the restaurant particularly at weekends and we also advise reserving a table for Sunday Lunch.
What is the dress code for dinner?
The dress code is smart casual.
Do you cater for vegetarian or special diets?
Yes – please let us know when making your reservation.
Is there non-resident dining?
Yes

Can I bring my dog?
Sorry we unable to accommodate pets in the hotel apart from guide dogs.
Is disabled access available?
Yes, to the hotel and there is a disabled toilet. Unfortunately we do not have any guest bedrooms on the ground floor and all bedrooms are accessible by stairs only as the hotel doesn’t have a lift. For more information please see our Access Statement.
Is car parking available?
We have a large car park and there is no charge for parking.
Where is the nearest train station and airport?
Nearest train stations are Workington (3 miles) Penrith (30 miles) or Carlisle (25 miles). Nearest airports are Newcastle, Manchester, Liverpool or Glasgow.
Are there any local buses?
Unfortunately there are no buses that stop close to the hotel. However there are a number of local taxi firms you can use. Please contact us on 01900 61798 for the details.
Are you able to store bicycles?
Yes, secure storage is available.
What local activities are there?
Many activities including walking, cycling, watersports and climbing are all nearby – please check our things to do section for details or contact reception. There are plenty of tourist attractions in the market town of Cockermouth and harbour towns of Workington and Whitehaven which are only a few miles away. Should you wish to venture slightly further afield, an exciting day out can be had in the Lake District towns of Keswick, Ambleside and Windermere.
